A 31-year-old Kakaako man is in custody after he kissed and fondled a woman who refused his advances on a city bus in Kalihi, police said.
Jesuit Hilario, also known as Fanson Otto, was indicted on a charge of kidnapping Thursday in connection with the incident. He was being held at Oahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $75,000 bail.
According to a police affidavit, the incident began about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 19 when Hilario tried to talk to the victim on a city bus but was rebuffed.
When the woman got off at a stop near Mokauea Street and Dillingham Boulevard, Hilario followed her and grabbed her by the arms and then pushed her into a fence so she couldn’t escape, the affidavit said.
He began to kiss her all over her face and neck, then fondled her and tried to remove her clothing, the affidavit said. The woman struggled with Hilario during the encounter and finally broke free and ran away.
About 1:15 a.m. Sept. 27, the victim called police after noticing Hilario at Ala Moana Center.
Body of 86-year-old recovered from bay
Honolulu recovered an 86-year-old man’s body Saturday from Kaneohe Bay.
Honolulu fire Capt. David Jenkins said firefighters received a call about 7:50 a.m. after the man went missing while trying to recover a boat that had a broken anchor.
Jenkins said the victim was camping at Kapapa Island with another man and both had gone into the water to try to retrieve the boat. The other man was able to get to the boat and called for help for the victim, who ran into trouble.
Firefighters located the man in the water, unconscious and without a pulse, about 9:30 a.m. Firefighters transferred the man to paramedics and he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Emir “Joey” Castillo was reported missing to police on Monday after he failed to report to work. He informed a family member Saturday that he planned to visit an underwater cave near Kaakaaniu Beach, also known as Larsen’s Beach, in Kilauea. Castillo has not been seen or heard from since.
Police, firefighters and personnel from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources launched a land and air search.
On Monday, police found Castillo’s car in the Kaakaaniu Beach parking lot. A backpack containing his personal belongings was also found undisturbed on the shoreline, but there was no sign of Castillo.
The search continued throughout the week with help from the Coast Guard. Police do not suspect foul play.
