Amantiad, who received a removal notice on his tent Wednesday, said, “They never used to bother us. Now these new people are ruining it for those of us who have been residing here for a while.”

He said he and his girlfriend live in the car, but they don’t park it there overnight. He said the police would hassle him if he parked it overnight in a public place.
