Former American Airlines executive Jonathan Snook has been appointed interim chief operating officer of Hawaiian Airlines, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday by parent company Hawaiian Holdings Inc.
Snook, 49, previously spent 28 years at American and its parent company AMR Corp., most recently as senior vice president of customer service since January 2013 and as vice president of operations planning and performance from March 2010 to January 2013. Snook began his new position at Hawaiian on Oct. 7.
He replaces Sean Menke, who resigned from Hawaiian on Sept. 18 to take over as executive vice president of Southlake, Texas-based Sabre Corp. and president of Sabre Travel Network. Menke, 46, began his new role at Sabre, a provider of travel data and reservation software, Oct. 5. In his new position, Menke is accountable for Sabre’s global distribution system.
