Artistic Director Matt Catingub, left, talked backstage with Aidan James and Colby Benson after they helped open the Hawaii Pops’ third season with “Dancing Through the Decades, Part 2,” a celebration of eight decades of pop chart hits, Saturday in the Tapa Ballroom at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Benson showed her talents as a pop vocalist with a half-dozen numbers. James rocked it on lead vocals and ukulele on “Livin’ la Vida Loca.”
