The Stand Up World Series finale begins its two days of racing today with the 13-mile distance from Turtle Bay to Haleiwa.
The Na Kama Kai youth clinic will be held at 8 a.m. at Kuilima Cove and the SUP race will follow at 1 p.m.
On Sunday, the Na Kama Kai Youth sprint race is at 10 a.m. with the professional sprint race at 12:30 p.m.
Among the pro favorites are the Maui trio of Kai Lenny, the current ratings leader; defending world champion Connor Baxter and last year’s sprint winner Zane Schweitzer. Also in contention is Haleiwa’s Mo Freitas.
Part-time Hawaii resident Candace Appleby has already clinched the women’s title.

Chaminade tops Fresno Pacific in five sets
Keani Passi’s double-double of 24 kills and 13 digs carried the Chaminade volleyball team to a 25-21, 17-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-6 victory over Fresno Pacific at McCabe Gym on Friday. The Silverswords improve to 13-4 overall and 6-3 in PacWest play.

Fishing tournament today
The Kanaka Ikaika Racing Association is sponsoring the Maui Jim Fish On, a fishing competition off Kailua Beach today.
Points will be awarded on different fish types, with prize money ranging from $25 to $300. Each water craft is limited to two poles. Caught fish will be cooked at the Kailua Canoe Club hale, with rice, salad and plates provided.
Categories are most fish, biggest fish and total weight. Entry fee is $25 for one division, $40 for two categories and $50 for all three. Online registration is required by noon today at flpregister.com. For information, call 927-0711.
Shelton Memorial boxing today
The 11th Clint Shelton Memorial boxing tournament is scheduled for today at Palolo District Park gym.
The amateur event begins at 6:30 p.m. with nearly a dozen fights on the card. Admission is $12.
HIC Pro launches winter surf season
The HIC Pro, the Hawaii qualifier for the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, will feature the youngest field of pro surfers in the history of the 32-year-old event that begins this month at Sunset Beach.
Fifty-nine Hawaii surfers are among the 112 hopefuls. More than a third of the competitors are teenagers, including Japan’s Joh Azuchi, the youngest entrant at 14, and Finn McGill, Hawaii’s youngest contestant at 14.
The holding period of the HIC Pro, a World Surf League QS3000-rated event, runs from Oct. 28 through Nov. 10.
