The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a two-alarm building fire Saturday morning in Waianae.
The fire was reported at 7:41 a.m. at 86-309 Puuhulu Place. Firefighters arrived at the one-story, single-family house to see black smoke and flames coming out of the front portion of the home, officials said.
Firefighters had the blaze under control at 8:10 a.m.
The five occupants were not home at the time and no injuries were reported.
Damage is estimated at $150,000 to the structure and $15,000 to its contents. The Red Cross was assisting the residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
