A 42-year-old homeless man is in police custody in connection with the shooting of a 25-year-old man last month.
Police said Kele Stout drove himself to the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center at about 7:20 p.m. Sept. 16 with numerous gunshot wounds. Stout identified the suspect, who was arrested at a Waianae address at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder, police said. No charges have been filed.
A friend said Stout has been released from the hospital.
Man stabbed near Ewa Beach school
Homicide detectives have opened an aggravated assault case after a 46-year-old man was treated by paramedics for stab wounds and taken to the hospital in serious condition in Ewa Beach on Thursday morning.
Emergency Medical Services said the incident was reported at 5:22 a.m. and occurred on Papipi Road near Ewa Beach Elementary School.
Waianae business robbed at gunpoint
An unknown amount of cash, a cellphone and cigarettes were taken in the armed robbery of a business in Waianae on Wednesday morning, Honolulu police said.
The robbery took place at about 6:05 a.m., and one of the two males involved carried a firearm. Police said both fled in a white sport utility vehicle and that no arrests were made.
Police declined to name the business or its location and said the investigation was continuing.

Maui officer under probe in bribery case
A police officer is under investigation for allegedly bribing a witness, Maui police said.
Chase K. Keliipaakaua, 29, of Kihei was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree hindering prosecution.
Keliipaakaua has been with the Maui Police Department for six years.
He was released pending further investigation.
In addition, an administrative investigation was initiated, and he has been assigned to desk duties.
Robbery, attack on beach lead to teens’ arrests
Police have detained four teen boys in connection with an assault and robbery this week at a Lihue beach.
Four juveniles assaulted a 24-year-old Lihue man and stole a bag from a 21-year-old California woman at Ninini Beach, also known as Running Waters, at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, then fled, Kauai police said Thursday.
The victims sought help from bystanders. Hotel security at the Kauai Marriott Resort and police were notified.
Police said the man suffered a cut above his eye, and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Officers found one teen near the hotel pool. The others were caught near Kalapaki Beach.
All were transported to the Lihue station for questioning. Two brothers, ages 15 and 17, were released to their parents. The two others, 15-year-old twins, were detained on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
