Entering her final tournament of the spring, Raquel Ek had posted one top-10 finish in 19 starts with the Rainbow Wahine golf team. She has since posted three top-five showings in her past four events.
Ek closed her sophomore season with a second-place showing at the Big West championships and began the fall with a tie for second at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic in Utah. She rebounded from a rough two rounds at the Eden Ihlanfeldt Invitational in early October with a fourth-place finish in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational last week at Leilehua Golf Course.=
Ek, an honorable mention all-conference selection last season, carded rounds of 1-under 71 in the first and third rounds and led the Rainbow Wahine with a total of 1-under 215, two strokes above the career best she set at the Big West championships in April. Her performance at Leilehua helped the Wahine finish in a tie for second in the team standings.
