Tommy Bahama, the apparel retailer operating a handful of restaurants, opened a third restaurant in Hawaii — and its first on Oahu — on Friday.
The Tommy Bahama Restaurant Bar & Store opened in Waikiki at 298 Beachwalk Drive next to Hard Rock Cafe in a two-story building that was previously home to luxury fashion retailer Burberry and local surf shop Hawaiian Island Creations.
Seattle-based Tommy Bahama, which became a subsidiary of Atlanta-based apparel manufacturer Oxford Industries in 2003, operates about 130 stores, including 14 with restaurants.
In Hawaii the company operates two other restaurants, one at The Shops at Mauna Lani on the Big Island and one at The Shops at Wailea on Maui. There are also five retail-only stores, at Ala Moana Center and Waikele Premium Outlets on Oahu, at Whaler’s Village on Maui, at The Shops at Kukui’ula on Kauai and at Kings’ Shops on the Big Island.
The Waikiki restaurant and store features retail on the first floor. The restaurant and bar operate on the second floor. There also is a rooftop bar and lounge with a "sandy beach patio modeling a seashore vibe."
