The Society for Human Resource Management — Hawaii Chapter has received the prestigious Pinnacle Award.
It was awarded last week in Washington, D.C., by the Society for Human Resource Management to its state councils and chapters for notable contributions to the HR profession.
The Pinnacle Award, which was created in 1991, is the highest achievement SHRM state councils and chapters can attain, and it honors programs that exceed the standard activities of SHRM affiliates in enhancing the creation of effective HR management.
SHRM Hawaii was among 12 human resource organizations from nine states across the country to win the award.
Working with experts in college and career readiness and the Workforce Development Council, SHRM Hawaii identified a gap in awareness of the HR profession in college-ready high school students. Its HR Pathway program implemented career-oriented HR curriculum for the first time at Hawaii public high schools that was intended to increase the number and quality of candidates for the profession and improve future workforce knowledge.
