>> 1459 Ahuawa Loop (Waialae): Stop by and say hi to Frosty the Snowman as he proudly stands guard in this serene winter wonderland twinkling with red and green lights and Christmas trees atop trees. Lights are on from sunset to 10 p.m. through New Year’s Day.
>> 3969 Kaualio Place (Kahala): The Lee family has put together a cheerful scene this year with a collection of friendly animals and pooches, including a cute hot-dog Santa. There’s also an illuminated display of a Christmas tree with lots of gifts, snowmen, a rotating carousel and Santa himself.
>> 1080 Kaumoku St. (Mariners Ridge): Jeff “Mr. Christmas” Jersets offers a cool photo op for visitors: a life-size Santa sled parked in front of his home! Don’t be shy; hop right in, shake the bells and snap some fun photos and selfies. Meanwhile, the usual annual display has grown to include nine reindeer and two nutcrackers (each standing a whopping 8 feet tall); six 5-foot candles; two towering 12-foot candy canes; and large baby blocks that spell out “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year.” Check it out from 6 to 11 p.m. nightly through mid-January.
>> 924 Pueo St. (Kahala): The simplest display of them all features a single, elegant and fully decorated 100-foot grand Norfolk pine, a mesmerizing spectacle that stands tall and proud for its owners, who have been presenting this “gift” to the community for 15 years and counting.
HONOLULU
>> 1036 Hala Drive (Alewa Heights): Definitely one of the most unique displays to be found with its eclectic decorations, including lions with blinking eyes, a Christmas tree blinged out with chili pepper lights and a special animated “deer-raffe,” (a cross between a reindeer and giraffe that won’t be found anywhere else in the world). Check it out from 6 to 10 p.m. (until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays).
>> 723 Hauoli St. (McCully): The Vares family has been spreading Christmas aloha in the community for nearly 25 years through a dazzling display consisting of Santa and Mrs. Claus, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Elsa and Olaf from “Frozen,” a Christmas Day countdown, gingerbread houses, a paniolo, a rocking horse, a Nativity scene and some cool rock ’n’roll elves.
>> 2020 Hillcrest St. (Alewa Heights): The Bisho family once again lights up the neighborhood with bright LED lights and a holiday spread consisting of a large wreath, angels, a nutcracker, Santa’s train, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, large ornaments and an assortment of inflatables, including Disney favorite Tow Mater from “Cars.” Lights turn on at 6 p.m. and shut off at 10 p.m. nightly.
>> 2306 Kuahea St. (Palolo): The Chivers’ festive lineup comprises over 30 classic blow molds, including Frosty the Snowman and friends, an elf, a drummer boy, toy soldiers, candy canes and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus. There’s even a complete Nativity scene lighting up the neighborhood at this cozy Palolo residence.
>> 2672 Lowrey Ave. (Manoa): This marks the 35th year the Allens have been lighting up their Manoa neighborhood, showcasing more than 30 friendly characters, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse with their pal Goofy, a frolicking penguin in an igloo, several Santas and a Nativity scene. Not to be lost in the mix is the Allens’ heartfelt message of donating the precious gift of blood during this special time of the year. Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. nightly.
>> 1553 Miller St. (Punchbowl): One of Santa’s favorite hangouts is here at the home of the Franca ohana, where he hangs from the second-floor window to spread Christmas aloha while several penguins and snowmen, a polar bear, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh and others greet visitors from below. From dusk through 2 a.m. until New Year’s Day.
>> 1618 Perry St. (Kalihi Valley): We all know Santa’s keeping a watchful eye on us, but here at the Correia residence, it’s Frosty the Snowman, perched from high above, who’s overseeing the neighborhood and also this display of more than 3,000 twinkling lights, radiant Christmas trees, reindeer and Santa riding a firetruck. Hours are 6:15 to 10 p.m.
>> 1255 Wilhelmina Rise (Kaimuki): This festive home, situated along an uphill Wilhelmina Rise, features extra-large (15-foot-tall) reindeer, a snowman and Santa Claus in a hot-air balloon as they peek through and frolic among twinkling and fragrant plumeria trees. Lights are on from sunset to 9 p.m. weekdays and till 10 p.m. on weekends.
KANEOHE
>> Namoku Street: If you’re on the Windward side, be sure to stop by the ever-popular “Street of Lights,” which transforms into an enchanting magical pathway created by joyful residents who spend countless hours blinging out their homes and yards each holiday season. A definite must-see.
MILILANI
>> 95-1148 Auina St. (Mililani Mauka): This dazzling eye-candy light spectacle features shimmery projection lights from the second floor, along with a lollipop light show in front, red and green lights wrapped around palm trees in back, and a roof lined with colorful lights emitting various effects. As if that’s not impressive enough, there’s also Santa’s huge delivery truck (12 feet long, 7 feet tall) with a 12-foot homemade Christmas tree ablaze with 1,000 lights, a 4-foot wreath and cute animals — owls, a puppy, polar bears and a reindeer—that get to call this place home. >> Neleau Place cul-de-sac: Visit a winter wonderland featuring thousands of colorful, twinkling lights and returning favorites, including enchanting Disney princesses, the cast from “Frozen,” despicable Minions, Elmo and Friends and, new this year, those addictingly lovable Tsum Tsums. There’s also an expanded assortment of “Star Wars” characters, with special appearances by actual costumed characters on select Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. Lights will be on daily through Christmas night. Also, take a stroll to the next two cul-de-sacs for more holiday eye candy.
WAIANAE
>> 87-1029-A Hakimo Road: The home of Bob and Julie Herodias is once again set ablaze with 10,000 bright lights and more than 300 lighted figures arranged methodically in themed displays, including Winnie the Pooh and friends, Snoopy, Disney characters, a Nativity scene and more. New this year is the creation of pathways between the different scenes for visitors to walk through and take pictures. Hours are 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly through Dec. 29.
>> 85-1137 Waianae Valley Road: Sit back and cruise on by this impressive musical display featuring an 18-foot Christmas tree and a singing Santa as 5,200 channels of synchronized Christmas lights dance to sounds that emit from your car radio on FM 89.1. Enjoy the show nightly from 6:30 to 11 p.m.
WAIKELE/WAIPAHU
>> 94-313 Kiokio Place: The Domingo family presents its impressive holiday collection of more than 100 plywood cutout characters including those from “Frozen,” “Penguins of Madagascar,” “Despicable Me” and “The Simpsons,” as well as those cuddly Care Bears and Smurfs. Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. (11 p.m. on weekends) through Dec. 26, weather permitting.
>> 94-471 Palai St. (Village Park): This festive spread features 13 inflatables, eight reindeer, a couple of snowmen, a penguin, a frog, a tin soldier, an angel and a village display, with colorful twinkling guava trees, icicles and garlands galore. Decorations will be up through the first week of January.
>> Anapau Place: Fourteen houses are synchronized to a 38-minute light show in the neighborhood display, which will be featured on ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight” on Monday.
