Hokule‘a voyagers on Africa leg to give talk

One of the Hokule‘a’s captains, several crew members and a documentary photographer will discuss the sailing canoe’s worldwide voyage Thursday evening in Honolulu.

Billy Richards, one of the canoe’s captains, and crew members Archie Kalepa, Sam Kapoi and Max Yarawamai will discuss the Hokule‘a’s Mauritius-to-Cape Town, South Africa, leg from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at C4 Waterman Outpost, 515 Ward Ave. Photographer Daniel Lin, who was also a crew member, will show photographs.

The event is free, but a $5 donation to the Polynesian Voyaging Society is encouraged.
