Police were searching for a suspect in a stabbing on Keeaumoku Street that left a 32-year-old man in critical condition on Saturday.
Police said the suspect fled after assaulting the victim with a dangerous instrument at about 11:10 p.m.
Paramedics treated the victim in the 700 block of Keeaumoku Street and took the man, who had five “deep stab wounds” to his back, in critical condition to a hospital, an Emergency Medical Services report said.
Police opened a second-degree attempted murder investigation.
Victim in serious condition after beating
A man in his 30s was apparently beaten near the Board of Water Supply building on Beretania Street early Sunday morning.
Paramedics treated the man for multiple injuries to his head and face and took him in serious condition with trauma wounds to a hospital, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
The incident happened at about 4:52 a.m.
Man held in theft of wallet from purse
A 51-year-old Pearl City man was in custody Sunday after he was seen on surveillance video taking a wallet from a woman’s purse, police said.
The victim, a 19-year-old woman, reported her wallet missing from her purse at a Honolulu business Thursday, and surveillance video showed the suspect taking the woman’s wallet that morning between 8:30 and 11:30, police said.
The man was arrested Saturday near Ward Avenue for investigation of second-degree theft.
Rescuers guide lost hikers down trail
Honolulu firefighters escorted a group of lost hikers off the Kaau Crater trail Sunday evening.
Honolulu Fire Department rescue personnel responding to a 7 p.m. emergency call quickly located the hikers and were able to walk them off the trail within a half-hour.
No injuries were reported.
