Police charged two people in an attempted robbery at an ABC store in Waikiki. Police charged Tyrone Britt, 23, of Ewa Beach and Joanna Soria, 18, of no local address. Bail was set at $2,000 and $1,500, respectively.
At about 4:38 p.m. Tuesday, police said, Britt and Soria entered the store at 160 Liliuokalani Ave. and took items without paying. Physical force was used in the theft.
At about 4:50 p.m., police arrested Britt and Soria on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
They also were charged with third-degree assault.
Teen tries to steal car, assaults man
A 16-year-old boy was charged with attempting to steal a car in Kalihi and assaulting a 33-year-old man who confronted him.
At about 12:21 p.m. Monday, a man said, he witnessed the suspect reach into a parked vehicle driver’s-side door while a 17-year-old girl stood nearby as a lookout.
Police said that when the man confronted the suspects, the boy struck the victim with an object.
Police located the suspects after a brief search in the area. The boy was charged with second-degree unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and third-degree assault. The girl was released pending investigation.
2 boys arrested after rifling through car
Police arrested two teens who were spotted early Wednesday morning allegedly searching inside a vehicle in Makiki. A witness saw the boys, ages 13 and 14, at 5:09 a.m., rifling through a vehicle owned by an 18-year-old man.
Officers arrested the teens at 5:38 a.m. on suspicion of first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, and released them pending investigation shortly after 8 a.m.
