More popular than Las Vegas!
That’s Hawaii for you, according to the latest 2015 statistics through November from the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
Visitor arrivals to the islands during the first 11 months of last year were up by 4.2 percent, to 7.9 million, while in desert-locked Sin City, arrivals were up by 2.8 percent through the first 11 months, to 39.1 million.
Oh, wait. Hawaii’s percentage increase was greater than Las Vegas’, but about 8 million actual arrivals, versus 39 million? Never mind. Apparently Hawaii has some catching up to do if it wants to match Las Vegas.
If tourists could just drive here, maybe the numbers would match up better. And, too, there’s that whole legalized gambling thing, but let’s not go there right now.
