A man in his 40s threatened to detonate a bomb at a bank in Kapolei on Monday during an attempted robbery.
Police said the man, wearing a blue surgical mask, entered the Kapolei branch of American Savings Bank at 2:44 p.m., approached the teller and demanded money.
He threatened to set off a bomb when the branch manager declined to give him money, a CrimeStoppers bulletin said. The man then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
He is wanted for first-degree robbery.
The man is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds. He was wearing a light-green long-sleeved shirt, khaki shorts, a black baseball cap and black slippers.

Man pulls heist at First Hawaiian branch
Police were looking for a man who robbed the downtown branch of First Hawaiian Bank on Tuesday afternoon.
Police received a call about the robbery at 3:56 p.m. and issued an all-points bulletin for the suspect, who fled on foot.
The robbery occurred at the bank’s main branch at King and Bishop streets, a spokeswoman said.
Woman held in check forgery, theft case
A 29-year-old Pearl City woman was arrested Sunday when she tried to cash a forged business check at a Pearl Kai Shopping Center check-cashing business.
Police said a clerk called the business that issued the check and found out that it was a forgery.
The suspect fled and was arrested just after 3 p.m. near the shopping center on suspicion of second-degree forgery and second-degree attempted theft.
