Hawaii’s Kalani David was eliminated in the fourth round of the Ericeira World Junior Championships in Ericeira, Portugal, falling to American Kanoa Igarashi.
Igarashi posted a two-wave score of 15.70, besting David’s score of 11.10. In the previous round, David knocked out fellow local product Benji Brand by a score of 14.70 to 13.37.
The event will conclude today, with the quarterfinals beginning at 7:30 a.m.
“The GR3en Run” registration open
The Kanaka Ikaika Racing Association will be holding their second race, the GR3en Run, on Sunday. The race will be 8 miles, from Hawaii Kai to Kaimana Beach. All paddle crafts are welcome.
The pre-registration fee is $30 at www.flpregister.com until midnight of Jan. 15. Those interested may also sign up on race day for $40.
