A CrimeStoppers bulletin was issued Wednesday as police continued the search for a man who robbed the downtown First Hawaiian Bank on Tuesday.
Police were asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect, who entered the bank, approached a teller, handed a demand note and stated he had a weapon.
The wanted man is described as being in his 40s, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and about 240 pounds. He has brown eyes, and was wearing an aloha shirt, blue denim shorts and a black cap. He was carrying a black backpack.
He fled on foot in an unknown direction. Police received a call about the robbery at 3:56 p.m. and issued an all-points bulletin.
The robbery occurred at the bank’s main branch at South King and Bishop streets, a spokeswoman said.

Woman injured jumping into river
Hawaii island firefighters Tuesday came to the aid of two women who jumped 80 feet into the Wailuku River at Rainbow Falls.
One of the women was injured and had to be taken to Hilo Medical Center after being treated at the scene just after 1 p.m.
Witnesses said the two women, both in their 20s, had been assisted to shore before firefighters arrived.
Police apprehend 3 boys in robbery
Three boys were turned over to Family Court after they allegedly tried to rob three other youths Saturday in Kakaako.
Police said the three boys — ages 12, 14 and 16 — were with a group of 12 other boys and girls who allegedly attacked the three victims — boys ages 13 and 14 — at 2:50 p.m. Saturday.
The suspects apprehended by police and sent to Family Court were charged Sunday with second-degree robbery.
