Dominique Walker’s single to shortstop scored Kristy Washizaki with the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Hawaii Pacific softball team rallied past Augustana (S.D.) 8-7 in the first game of a doubleheader Sunday at Howard A. Okita Field.
Earlier in the inning, Washizaki singled in Mari Kajiwara to tie the game. The Vikings committed two errors in the inning and both runs were unearned.
In the second game, Karlee Koopman pitched a six-hitter with seven strikeouts in Augustana’s 6-1 victory.
The Sea Warriors’ Kiana Wolfe had three hits.
HPU is 1-1; Augustana is 3-1.
