Part of the Rainbow Wahine tennis team’s international contingent, Roxanne Resma enters UH’s first road trip of the spring packing considerable momentum.
The freshman from the Philippines has dropped just eight games in winning her past three matches in straight sets heading into UH’s Big West match at UC Riverside on Sunday.

Playing primarily at No. 6 singles, Resma improved to 4-2 in dual matches. She’s 5-4 overall with two losses coming in three sets.
She is 5-3 in doubles with partner Cindy Nguyen and the duo also has won three straight. They pulled out a 7-6 (9-7) win in Saturday’s Big West opener against Cal Poly to help UH claim the doubles point.
UH coach Jun Hernandez moved Resma to No. 5 singles, and Resma delivered a 6-0, 6-0 win in a 4-0 Wahine sweep.
UH moved up into a tie for 65th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division I women’s rankings released on Wednesday. Freshman Marina Hruba entered the singles rankings at No. 99. .
