January was a relatively flat month for home sales activity on Maui, though median prices moved higher.
The Realtors Association of Maui released sales data Friday showing relatively small changes in the market last month.
The number of single-family home sales slipped by two properties to 73 in January from 75 in the same month last year. The median price rose
9 percent to $630,000 from $577,000 in the same period.
There were 82 condominium sales last month, one less than there was a year earlier. Condos sold for a median $397,500 last month. That was up 5 percent from $378,000 a year earlier.
The association counts sales of both previously owned and new homes. The median price is a point at which half the sales were at a higher price and half at a lower price.
