A 26-year-old man has been charged with assaulting his wife at a homeless shelter in Waipahu.
David Kasty, of no local address, was charged Friday with second-degree assault. His bail was set at $11,000.
Kasty injured a 33-year-old woman with a dangerous instrument about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. He was arrested at the Lighthouse Outreach Center on Leokane Street.
Police received a call from the shelter after Kasty stabbed his wife in the back and security officers were detaining him, according to police radio communications.
Attack leaves victim with head injuries
Police opened a second-degree attempted murder investigation Friday night after a 19-year-old man was assaulted in Haleiwa.
The unknown attacker assaulted the man with a dangerous instrument and fled the scene about 11:10 p.m., police said. The victim sustained head injuries.
24-year-old is stabbed 4 times in Waikiki
A 24-year-old man was in serious condition Saturday after being stabbed four times while in Waikiki.
Paramedics treated the man at about 4 a.m. near Kuhio and Seaside avenues and took him to a hospital, an Emergency Medical Services report said. He was suffering from what appeared to be four stab wounds to the left side of his torso, the report said.
