Two Hawaii models have been selected to represent Hawaii and the United States at the 2016 Top Model Worldwide competition in London April 1 and 2.
Winners of Friday’s Top Model Hawaii competition are Kristie Thornburg, 22, from Ewa Beach, and Noa Ah Nee, 19, from Kailua.
Nine women and seven men vied for the title of Top Model Hawaii 2016. More information is online at topmodelworldwidehawaii.com.
Bella Project to host prom dress giveaway
The Bella Project aims to help high school girls in need attend prom in the dress of their dreams. The next giveaway will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at Central Union Church Parish Hall, 1660 S. Beretania St.
The dress giveaway is open to any high school student with a valid school ID. To participate, visit bellaprojectregistration-022716.eventbrite.com to fill out a registration form, including desired appointment time. Appointments will be confirmed via email.
The Bella Project, founded by Valerie Schmidt, collects new and virtually new formal dresses and accessories throughout the year and provides them free of charge to high school girls in Hawaii. No proof of financial need is required. For more information, visit thebellaprojecthawaii.org.
Nordstrom events celebrate reopening
Tickets are on sale for Nordstrom’s March 8 grand-reopening gala. The store is moving to Ala Moana Center’s Ewa Wing. The celebration will start at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, dinner and dessert stations, live entertainment and the opportunity to be among the first to shop the new 186,000-square-foot, three-level store. Guests will also enjoy an in-store fashion presentation and receive a gift.
Tickets are $100 per person, with 100 percent benefiting Aloha United Way, Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii and Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii.

On the grand-opening day, March 11, there will be a Beauty Bash from 8 to 9:30 a.m. outside the new store. The first 1,000 attendees will receive an exclusive, reusable tote bag. There will be a 9:15 a.m. blessing, and doors will officially open at 9:30 a.m.
