The University of Hawaii’s Skye Inakoshi shot a 3-under-par 69 and is in a four-way tie for fourth place after the second round of the John Burns Intercollegiate men’s golf tournament Thursday at the Wailua Golf Course in Lihue, Kauai.
Inakoshi, who is at 141, had eight birdies, including three straight from Nos. 15-17.
California’s K.K. Limbhasut leads at 66—137 and Cal’s Shotaro Ban (68—140) and Texas’ Gavin Hall (71—140) are tied for second.
Texas leads the 17-team tournament at 16-under 560. The UH “A” team shot a 294 and is tied for eighth at 585. The UH “B” team shot a 309 and is tied for 15th at 614.
The top golfer on the UH “B” team is Justin Tokioka, who shot a 73 and is tied for 43rd at 149.
UH wins 3 events at MPSF meet
The University of Hawaii’s Jonas Gutzat won the men’s 500 freestyle in 4:21.39, Franziska Weidner took the women’s 200 individual medley in 1:57.93 and the divers had a clean sweep in the women’s 1-meter on Thursday at the MPSF Championships.
The Hawaii women are in second place and the UH men are third through two days of competition.
Aimee Harrison won the 1-meter, Monica Gavaris finished second and Lauren Hall placed third.
