Following the opening of the revamped SuperBook at Westgate Las Vegas, new books have opened — one at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and the other at Casino Royale.
The Cosmopolitan’s rates up there with the best in town, with the big space on the main floor featuring state-of-the-art LED video- wall screens; multiple high-definition TVs; lounge seating; private VIP viewing areas; a new 24-hour bar with food service; plus shuffleboard, foosball and billiards; and a sports-themed table-games pit offering blackjack and roulette.
By contrast, the Casino Royale’s sports book is really just a new bar with a satellite book attached. The “BarBook” consists of a single counter with two betting stations from William Hill — no big betting boards or viewing screens. The good news is, the new bar has retained its excellent beer deal: Michelob in the bottle is just $1 around the clock.
Jubilee closes: After performing at Bally’s for 34 years, the production show “Jubilee” took its final bow last week. Although there’ve been vague murmurings of a possible reincarnation, it’s likely that its closing marks the end of the showgirl spectacular.
Kids’ meal: A rare deal for kids is available at Palace Station. On Wednesdays in Little Tony’s, buy a pizza or entree and kids 12 and under eat free from a special kids’ menu.
Ticket deal: A good ticket deal for “Million Dollar Quartet” at Harrah’s has just been announced. Get two tickets for the 5:30 p.m. performance on Thursdays for $60 by using code 2460 when ordering at the box office, by phone or online.
