Agency confirms 1 new case of dengue
The state Department of Health reported one new confirmed case of dengue fever on Thursday, bringing the total count to 261 cases in the ongoing outbreak on Hawaii island.
Prior to the new case, confirmed cases had an onset of illness ranging from Sept. 11 to Feb. 16. The onset date for the new case is March 4. While that individual is potentially infectious, the other cases are no longer infectious.
Of the confirmed cases, 236 are Hawaii island residents and 25 are visitors.
In recent weeks, the Health Department’s map of risk areas for the mosquito-borne virus has dwindled to four locations with some risk: Kailua-Kona, South Kona, Hilo and Mountain View.
Hawaii tallies 1 delegate win for Rubio
Marco Rubio won a delegate after all.
There were 150 delegates at stake in Tuesday’s Republican contests in Michigan, Mississippi, Idaho and Hawaii. Rubio was shut out in the first three states. But on Thursday evening — two days after the voting ended — Hawaii finished counting more than 2,000 provisional ballots, and there it was: one delegate for Rubio.
Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and John Kasich split the rest, with Trump winning the most. In the overall race for delegates, Rubio is still well behind Trump and Cruz.
The AP delegate count: Trump, 459; Cruz, 360; Rubio, 152; Kasich, 54. Needed to win the nomination: 1,237.
