The Chaminade softball team was shut out by Holy Names in both games of a doubleheader — including a no-hitter by Kristina Carbajal — Thursday at Central Oahu Regional Park.
Carbajal walked three batters and struck out eight in the Hawks’ 2-0 second-game victory.
The Silverswords’ Luana Moreno pitched a complete game and one of the runs she allowed was unearned.
In the first game, Vanessa Pulido pitched a six-hitter with six strikeouts and Nicolette Soares batted 2-for-3 with two RBIs in Holy Names’ 3-0 win.
Chaminade’s Amber Manuel went 3-for-3.
The Hawks improved to 7-17-1, 3-9 PacWest, while the Silverswords fell to 7-11, 3-5.
Silverswords’ Harada claims golf honor
Chaminade senior Jarin Harada has been named PacWest Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Harada, a Maryknoll graduate, took medalist honors with a 5-over-par 149 at last week’s Aloha at O’ahu Classic at the Turtle Bay Palmer Course. It was his eighth career victory.
The Silverswords won the team title at 631.
