A locally based television show that has traversed the world for three decades is returning to KHON2, the station that first launched the program.
“Pamela Young’s Mixed Plate” will begin airing again on KHON this summer with its debut episode, “Under Sakura Skies.” The episode will be preceded by a “Mixed Plate” series on KHON.
Exact air dates are pending.
The show started as a local news feature and grew to be an international exploration, sending Young and her production crew to some 40 countries and 25 U.S. states. The show has won 12 Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award.
The show had aired on KITV for decades, until Young left the local ABC affiliate in December following an ownership change. When Young launched the show, she worked at KHON.
“‘Mixed Plate’ is the perfect addition to KHON2’s lineup of local programming,” KHON2 General Manager Kristina Lockwood said in a statement. “It’s so wonderful to have a show of that scope come back to the station where it all began.”
“Mixed Plate has always evolved to embrace the trends of the time and demands of the audience,” Young said in a statement. “I’m so happy the adventures continue at KHON2.”
