The Hawaii Pacific men’s tennis team (13-0) moved up to the No. 1 spot in the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division II National Rankings, which came out on Wednesday.
Individually, senior Thibaud Berland became the top-ranked player in the country after posting an 11-0 record so far this season, including a victory over the previous top-ranked player.
Berland and his doubles partner, Alexander Meyer, also earned the top doubles ranking after starting the season 13-0.

UH Hilo splits pair with Concordia
After edging by for a win in the first game, the University of Hilo softball team was shut out in the second game against Concordia, 8-0 in Irvine, Calif.
Brittany Huff hit a home run in the sixth inning to give the Vulcans (20-7, 12-2 PacWest) the 5-4 win in Game 1. In the second game, the Vulcans were unable to muster any offense against Concordia (27-8, 9-5 PacWest), as Eagles pitcher BethAnn McCann pitched a two-hit shutout.
Next up is Azusa Pacific on Friday and Saturday.
>>The Chaminade softball team (8-16, 4-10 PacWest) lost both games in their doubleheader against Dixie State (25-7, 13-3 PacWest) in St. George, Utah. The Silverswords lost 8-0 in six innings in the first game, and 16-4 in five innings in the second.
