A new consolidated shuttle operation at Honolulu Airport will debut next week and provide expedited service for customers of five rental car companies on airport property — Advantage, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National.
It will begin at 4 a.m. Monday and operate from that time to 1 a.m. every day. The white multibranded shuttles have the printed logo and colored flower of each of the participating rental companies. Together they are known as the Consolidated Rental Car, or CONRAC, partners. Drivers will be wearing a blue aloha shirt, and Roberts Hawaii will operate the service. A Hawaiian blessing was held Wednesday to mark the new service.
Off-airport rental car companies will continue to operate individually branded shuttles.
Customers of the five companies will no longer need to wait for a specific rental car company shuttle to transport them to and from the new interim rental car facility terminal. The integrated service will utilize 16 new vehicles — eight with 14-person seating and eight with 24-person seating.
The new shuttle buses, shuttle service and all related costs are funded by Advantage, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National. No state airport funds are being used.
