The ILH champion Mid-Pacific Owls were awarded the top seed in the Wally Yonamine Foundation/HHSAA Baseball State Championships at Iron Maehara Stadium in Wailuku beginning Wednesday.
Mid-Pacific opens with a second-round game against the winner between OIA runner-up Kalani and Mililani.
MIL champion Baldwin gets the second seed, awaiting the winner between Hilo and Waipahu.
OIA champion Kailua drew what appears to be the toughest game for a seeded team. The third-seeded Surfriders meet either defending state champion Campbell or ILH runner-up Punahou.
Waiakea took the fourth seed and will face the winner between Pearl City and Maui. The Wildcats are on Mid-Pacific’s side of the bracket.
The Division II tournament will be contested at Wong Stadium on Hilo, with Kamehameha-Hawaii enjoying the top seed and playing at home. The Warriors face Kalaheo in the first round.
Kauai earned the second seed and faces Radford, while OIA champion Kapolei is seeded third and takes on Konawaena.
Molokai, the fourth seed, will meet ILH champion St. Francis.
