Hawaii’s pair of Ginger Long and Mikayla Tucker were named to the all-tournament team of the inaugural NCAA Collegiate Beach Championship on Sunday.
Long, playing as a graduate student, and Tucker, a junior, went 3-1 when moving up to Flight 3 for the tournament at Gulf Shores, Ala. They were the only Rainbow Wahine pair to be selected to the five-pairs team and went 20-8 on the season as the SandBows finished fourth nationally.
USC, which defeated Florida State 3-1 for the title on Sunday, had two pairs named: Sara Hughes-Kelly Claes at No. 1 and Jo Kremer-Zoe Nightingale at No. 5. UCLA, which lost to FSU in Sunday’s contenders bracket final, had its No. 4 pair chosen in Zana Muno-Jessyka Ngauamo, while Arizona’s No. 2 pair of Jianna Bonomi-Katarina Schulz were named.
