A 33-year-old Honolulu man was taken in critical condition to a hospital early Monday morning after he apparently rode his moped in the wrong direction on South King Street near Straub Clinic & Hospital and collided with a car.
Police said the crash occurred at 1:43 a.m. near Kealamakai Street.
Both drivers were intoxicated, police said.
However, only the driver of the car, a 32-year-old man from Mililani, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Police said the moped rider might be arrested on suspicion of DUI.
