Hawaii-based designer Casey Dumadag’s fabric littleCayCam Baby Moccs slip onto baby’s feet and provide just the right amount of cushion along with a soft lining. Instead of snaps or straps that can distract, these are made with elastic at the ankles so they stay on regardless of how fast baby is moving. Nonwalker sizes (1-3) are made with suede bottoms, and walker sizes (4-9) have nonskid soles. Prices start at about $25 per pair. Find Dumadag at Booth 154 or visit her online store at littlecaycam.bigcartel.com.
Protect car seats with tossable, waterproof, stretch-to-fit covers
One of the more tedious chores for parents of young children is keeping baby’s car seat clean. And forget about being pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of infant seats provided by car rental companies. Ease your cares with Save Your Seat disposable seat and strap covers, which fit a variety of infant, toddler and booster car seats without interfering with belts or harnesses. The stretch-to-fit covers have a waterproof bottom layer and a moisture-wicking cotton-polyester blend top layer; in between is cotton and hemp batting.
Single seat covers ($5.98) and four-packs ($19.98) are available at shopsaveyour- seat.com; limited quantities will be available for the first time in Hawaii at the expo; check at the information booth for location.
Matching suits add style to beach days
Moms and daughters can hit the beach this summer in cute matching swimwear by Oahu designer Jaclyn Carreira. Her Keiki Elements bikinis and other styles are designed for action and are reversible, providing extra value at $50 to $60 per suit. Shop online at etsy.com/shop/keikielements or look for Booth 542.
Tote chemical-free scissors to make anything bite-size
Choking is a very real hazard for kids as they progress from eating baby food to getting bigger bites off mom’s and dad’s plates. That makes a pair of BiteSizers Portable Food Scissors a no-brainer for the diaper bag or mom’s purse. Made with stainless-steel blades and free of BPA, lead, PVC, phthalates and formaldehyde, BiteSizers come in three colors and include a snap-on cap, rounded blade edges and a built-in guide to help parents cut up food to the proper size recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
The food scissors will be available in Hawaii for the first time; check at the expo’s information booth for location, or order for $19.95 at amazon.com.
Dress up belly with intricate henna tattoo
Jessica Vogt was born and raised in Hawaii, but the 30-year-old has always held her Pakistani heritage close to her heart. She learned the art of henna tattooing at a relatively young age, but it wasn’t until February that she decided to share her talents with the public. One of her specialties is working with pregnant women to turn their bellies into beautiful works of art. Sessions start at $65 and can take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes to complete. Vogt is mobile, too, which makes it even more convenient for moms-to-be. She will demonstrate her talents at Booth 156; call 748-1524 or visit Henna Hawaii on Facebook for an appointment.
