Carole Kai, center, was hostess and emcee of a dinner for board members and key supporters of the Kaiser Permanente Great Aloha Run Wednesday at the Honolulu Design Center. Guests included Patti Brown and her husband, Gen. Robert B. Brown, commander of U.S. Army Pacific, Gov. David Ige and Maj. Gen. Charles K. Flynn, commander of the Army’s 25th Infantry Division. Kai thanked the generals for supporting the annual event. Brown responded by describing Kai as “a woman with a vision and a heart of gold.”
