The city Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 64-year-old man who drowned Sunday while swimming in an area fronting the Royal Hawaiian hotel in Waikiki as Chisato Higashio of Tokyo.

Prisoner captured after not returning to jail

Oahu Community Correctional Center inmate Lloyd Schmitt, 38, who failed to return from work furlough last week, was picked up by police Wednesday in Waikiki.
