Windward Mall’s Kids Inc. program is looking to give 12 aspiring young entrepreneurs the chance to bring their business ideas to market.
The fifth annual program, sponsored by the center, encourages keiki entrepreneurs ages 6 to 15 to submit their business ideas for the chance to set up shop at Windward Mall on July 23. Kids may provide services, introduce new products or buy items from wholesalers and then resell them. Businesses should have minimal parental involvement so that children can have the opportunity to learn about business and entrepreneurship, earn money and have fun, organizers said. All participants keep 100 percent of their earnings.
“Kid-preneurs” can submit their business plans on Facebook from Friday through June 27 at facebook.com/WindwardMall. Children ages 12 and under will need a parent or guardian to submit their entry.
Shoppers can vote on Windward Mall’s Facebook page from June 27 through July 10 for their favorite business plans. The 12 proposals with the most votes will be announced July 11. The Kids Inc. business showcase at Windward Mall’s Center Court will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 23. For more information, go to windwardmall.com/event/kidsinc or facebook.com/WindwardMall.
