A 56-year-old man was treated by paramedics and taken in critical condition to a hospital Wednesday night after he was pulled from the water off Kuhio Beach in Waikiki.
Emergency Medical Services said people brought the man to shore just after 10:30 p.m. and started CPR before paramedics arrived.
Theft suspect charged over narcotics
A 56-year-old Waianae woman stole items from an Ala Moana-area store last month, but instead of paying for her items, she left behind a bag of narcotics, police said.
Cathie Avilla was arrested at a Queen Street address Tuesday and charged a day later with third-degree theft and four drug violations. She also was being held on a contempt warrant.
Homeless woman charged in ID theft
A 33-year-old homeless woman has been charged with stealing a 26-year-old woman’s personal information and trying to withdraw $3,600 from the victim’s Bank of Hawaii checking account April 13, police said.
Sheri Shimizu was arrested Tuesday and charged Wednesday with second-degree theft, second-degree forgery, second-degree identity theft and unauthorized possession of personal information. Her bail was set at $20,000.
