NexGen Korean American Network and KBFD presented its first mentoring workshop recently at YWCA Laniakea in downtown Honolulu. The all-day seminar connected local Korean community leaders with young Korean-Americans through panel discussions; mentor presentations; and talks to help motivate, challenge and inspire participants on career, life goals and networking.
Panelists included Don DK Kim, Dr. Peter Kim, state Rep. Sharon Har, professors Song K. Choi and Chae Ho Lee, Kapiolani Community College lecturer Walter Rhee and lawyer James Kim. The event was sponsored by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Honolulu, the United Korean Association of Hawaii and the National Unification Advisory Council — Hawaii Chapter.

“My Daughter, Sawol”
Episodes 27 and 28
Today, 6:30 p.m.: Sawol feels for Owel. Sawol’s hatred toward Hyesang escalates when she discovers Hyesang had known about Owel, but kept it a secret. Ji-hye submits a paternity test for Hyesang. Chanbin announces his plans to marry Sawol.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Ki-hwang sets out to search for Sawol at Dukyeh’s urging. While in pursuit of Sawol, he witnesses Sae-hoon being beaten by Manhoo’s men.

Episodes 15 and 16
Monday, 7:45 p.m.: Prince Yeoning discovers Dae-gil is his brother and confronts Concubine Sukbin. Concubine Sukbin tells him the reason why Dae-gil’s lineage had to be kept a secret. Concubine Sukbin finds out King Sukjong has ordered Dae-gil to bring in Gaejakdu and questions the king’s motive. Dae-gil and Gaejakdu have a duel. Seol-im intervenes in the fight.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Prince Yeoning grieves, as Dam Seo comes back as an assassin. She tells him she chose that path to get rid of evildoers. He warns her that next time she will be held responsible for her deeds. Dae-gil and Prince Yeoning visit Concubine Sukbin in the palace. Dae-gil’s changed demeanor makes Concubine Sukbin realize that Dae-gil has found out the truth and breaks down in tears. Dae-gil calls her “Mother” as Concubine Sukbin asks for his forgiveness.
“The Entertainer”
Episodes 11 and 12
Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: The band is pleasantly surprised at their unexpected first fan meeting. Ha-neul conveys his honest heartfelt message to his fans. Suk-ho prepares for a rebuttal article to put a lid on rumors regarding Ha-neul. Lee Joon-suk uses his hidden card to close Ji-young’s sexual assault charge.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Ji-young panics when rumors spread like wildfire after Ha-neul and Ji-nu’s press conference. Suk-ho visits KTOP with evidence certain to scare Ji-young. Chan-hee’s mother, Ga-eun, gives Min-joo a questionable letter.
“Pretty Ugly”
Episodes 5 and 6
Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Jun-soo is dumbfounded when Gong Shim greets him with a cold demeanor. Dan-tae overhears Chairman Nam and Jun-soo’s conversation and is shocked. Gong Mi is put in a precarious situation at the company over evidence tempering.
Saturday, 7:45 p.m.: Dan-tae, Jun-soo and Gong Shim have lunch together at the company cafeteria. Dan-tae is bothered by the fact that Gong Shim is nice to Jun-soo. Dan-tae and Jun-soo fight to buy desserts and end up playing basketball to decide. Gong Shim is puzzled by their behavior.
