A teenager driving a stolen car that hit a police officer’s unmarked vehicle has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, car theft, driving without a license and fleeing the scene of an accident, police said.
The 17-year-old suspect was charged Saturday.
Police said the boy was driving a stolen car that intentionally rammed into an unmarked police officer’s vehicle at about 6:30 a.m. Friday at King and Punahou streets.
The driver and the car’s other occupants fled the scene but were later apprehended several blocks away from the accident. The police officer was not seriously injured.
Suspect sought over gunfire in Makakilo
Honolulu police were looking for a 22-year-old man who allegedly fired a gun at a man and woman in Makakilo.
Police said the incident happened at about 6:05 p.m. Friday.
The man and woman, both 20, said the suspect pointed a gun toward them and fired a shot before fleeing.
There were no injuries.
Police opened an attempted-murder investigation.
