Progress in deterring tank leaks is reported

    Honolulu Board of Water Supply manager and chief engineer Ernest Lau pointed Monday to a map showing where the Navy plans to build wells to monitor potential contamination from giant military fuel storage tanks. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency told Honolulu water utility officials it approved three of the four new wells.

Officials with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Monday that the Navy’s plan to secure and prevent future leaks at the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility is moving forward and making progress. Read more
