>> James C. Polk has been promoted to vice chairman from senior executive vice president at the Bank of Hawaii. An “On the Move” item on Page B6 Tuesday gave an incorrect first name.
>> In the second year of its Housing First contract with the city, the Institute for Human Services is required to continue supporting the 115 formerly homeless households that the group housed in the first year. A Page A1 story Sunday said IHS had to find homes for another 115 households. Also, in the next two weeks, the city will execute another Housing First contract with U.S. Vets to find Housing First units for another 100 households. The story said U.S. Vets would be taking over IHS’ existing contract in November.
Clarification
>> The city is exempt as an employer under Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 388, which sets rules for the payment of wages and other compensation. A Page B2 story Monday about pay for Summer Fun leaders stated broad requirements under the law but failed to specify that the city is exempt from those requirements.
