Earth, Wind & Fire returns to the Blaisdell Arena for a performance in the month they are most associated with.
Fittingly, given that one of its biggest hits is “September,” the R&B/funk outfit will take the Blaisdell stage Sept. 27.
The band, a recipient of this year’s Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, started in Chicago in 1971 and had a string of hits through the early 1980s, including “Shining Star,” “That’s the Way of the World” and “Let’s Groove,” though one of its most beloved songs to Hawaii fans — “Reasons” — never charted.
Tickets for the show, which is scheduled for 8 p.m., range in price from $45.50 to $135.50 (plus service fees). Kamaaina presale tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at ticketmaster.com, at the Blaisdell box office or by phone at 800-745-3000. General sales start July 15.
