Prosecutors on Friday charged a 61-year-old man with second-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed a 55-year-old man near the mauka tennis courts at Kapiolani Regional Park.
Karl Forester, who has no local address, was arrested Thursday. His bail was set at $250,000.
Police said they were called to an argument on Paki Avenue near the tennis courts and found the victim unconscious. Forester returned to the scene, and a witness identified him as the suspect. He was arrested shortly after noon.
Emergency Medical Services treated and transported the man in critical condition to a hospital, where he later died.
2 men jailed following gunshots
Two men were arrested in Moiliili early Friday morning after a Honolulu police officer heard two gunshots.
The officer heard the gunshots at about 12:25 a.m., found the two men and recovered a firearm, police said.
The men, 23 and 26, were arrested and held pending further investigation into charges including resisting arrest, reckless endangering and firearm violations.
