The Electricians (10-2), coached by Artie Wilson, completed the defense of their 2015 summer title. They’ve won the league four times in six years.
“We always like to compete,” Wilson said. “This summer league is special. It’s got a lot of history. We’ve been fortunate to win it a number of times. Every time we go in for it, we want to win.”
Wong, a Hawaii Hilo alumnus, hit six 3-pointers in the victory. Johnson, a junior with the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, hit seven of eight shots from the field, including three of four from 3-point range.
‘Iolani and Washington State alum Derrick Low directed things at point guard while scoring nine points.
“It was nice we had Derrick; we didn’t have to work as hard (for the title) this year,” Wong said. “He’s the best player in the state and he makes it a lot easier for us.”
Another ‘Iolani alum, Kyle Pape, scored 18 points to lead Chosen Few.

The Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association’s championship meet scheduled for Saturday might not be held.
The HCRA said the meet will be canceled if the State of Hawaii does not lift the brown water advisory for Keehi Lagoon by then.
The HCRA Board of Directors held a meeting Saturday in which it said that the “safety of paddlers, officials and guests at the State Championship race is the primary concern … If the State of Hawaii lifts the brown water advisory currently in place for Keehi Lagoon on Oahu, the State Championship races will go forward as planned.”
The HCRA also said that if the race is off, it will continue to sponsor the merchandise tent, food booths and all vendor booths and hold a celebration of the paddlers and those who were involved in cleaning Keehi.
