The 35-year-old stepdaughter of bounty hunter and celebrity Duane “Dog” Chapman pleaded not guilty Thursday to a drug charge.
Circuit Judge Colette Garibaldi scheduled a trial to be held the week of Oct. 31 for Nicole “Nickie” Gillespie on the charge of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug.
She remains in custody at Oahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $25,000 bail for the drug charge and $40,000 bail for a theft charge tied to an incident that occurred in September at Territorial Savings Bank in downtown Honolulu.
Police arrested Gillespie last week on North Vineyard Boulevard near Foster Botanical Garden on an outstanding warrant and suspicion of promotion of a dangerous drug. A bench warrant was issued in April after she left a drug treatment facility without authorization that month.
Gillespie is the daughter of one of Chapman’s ex-wives. Chapman starred in the cable television series “Dog the Bounty Hunter.”
