This week two new venues open their doors at the SALT Kakaako development:

>> 9Bar HNL Coffee, Breakfast & Bake Shop: This modern, gleaming mom-and-pop, run by former coffee wholesalers Stephen and Tracey Seta, opened Monday.

Stephen handles the cooking (think breakfast bowls filled with homemade sausage or bacon, furikake rice or roasted potatoes, alongside a creamy poached egg). Tracey fills the pastry case with a rotating selection of “scruffins” and soft, chewy cookies, plus other baked delectables. Barista Ryan Plaza delivers traditional coffee drinks, cold brews and nitro brews as well as sparkling juices and teas.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekends. Visit their Facebook page, 9Bar HNL.

>> Village Bottle Shop & Tasting Shop: On Thursday, check out the “beer cafe” of Honolulu Star-Advertiser beer columnist Tim Golden and business partner Daryn Ogino, which offers a rotating selection of beers and wines on tap as well as savory pies and other baked goods by HI Pie’s Casey Burns.

Village is “Hawaii’s first bottle shop and tasting room,” Golden says, offering beers for retail sale as well. The business isn’t aiming for the largest beer selection, “just the best.”

Hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, until 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and until 6 p.m. Sundays. Visit their Facebook (Village Bottle Shop & Tasting Room) and Instagram (@villagebeer) pages.
