Police released a 42-year-old Mililani man Monday while the investigation continues into a hit-and-run crash that killed a man while he was trimming grass Saturday on Aiea Heights Drive.
The suspect was arrested Sunday morning and released Monday night pending further investigation.
The city Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim Monday as Brandon Kishida, 42. He died of multiple blunt trauma.
Woman run over by own car
An 83-year-old Aiea woman was killed Monday morning when she was run over by her own car, police said.
Police said the accident occurred at 11:10 a.m. at Pamoho Place. The victim died at the scene. The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office Tuesday identified the woman as Aiko Mizusawa.
It was Oahu’s 32nd traffic death, compared with 30 at the same time a year ago.
Tot who likely drowned ID’d
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday identified a 2-year-old girl who apparently drowned after being found in an Ala Moana condominium swimming pool as Eleanor Rogers of Honolulu.
The cause of her death was still pending.
Paramedics responded to a report of a near drowning at One Ala Moana on 1555 Kapiolani Blvd. at about 5:30 p.m. Friday , said Shayne Enright, spokeswoman for the Honolulu Emergency Services Department. Paramedics treated the girl, who was found unresponsive in the swimming pool, and took her in critical condition to a hospital, where she later died.
