Contra-flow 101 will be in session for at least another week along Farrington Highway in Nanakuli. It will take time to work out the kinks of the contra-flow project that uses an eastbound lane of traffic to allow for three Waianae-bound lanes during the afternoon rush hour.
Those headed eastbound during contra-flow hours are reporting major backups. To help with traffic flow, we urge off-duty police officers to sign up for special-duty assignments along the contra-flow area until motorists are more familiar with the new traffic patterns.
With any luck, soon it will be smooth sailing — at least for those headed west.
