Fendi is expanding its presence at Royal Hawaii Center in early 2017 with the opening of a new two-level boutique that also carries its men’s collection.
The luxury retailer, which opened at the center in 2006, will remain in its current 1,961-square-foot space as an anchor for Building A until construction of its new location is complete. The boutique sells luxury furs, leather goods, shoes, fragrances, accessories and clothing for women. Fendi’s new 2,801-square-foot location will be Ewa of the center’s Apple Store in Building C.
“We are proud to announce this expansion opportunity that will provide a more spacious environment for one of our most important and successful merchants,” said Rosalind Schurgin, CEO of the Festival Cos., management and leasing company for Royal Hawaiian Center. “We look forward to welcoming the Fendi brand into its new space that will afford customers an even more luxurious experience and access to additional fine Fendi products.”
Stephany Sofos, a real estate analyst, said Fendi should thrive in the new location, which has greater visibility than its current spot.
“Retail is very, very competitive, more so than ever. The baby boomers aren’t spending as much, and the millennials need to feel like they are buying something new. Dollars for brick-and-mortar stores are waning,” Sofos said. “You want to be in an area where they can’t help but see you. This location will increase their visibility and also pull pedestrian traffic from Apple, the Cheesecake Factory and the International Market Place.”
